Energy Construct
Build models from energy, then dissolve them into dust or pieces with Geometry Nodes.
Conjure a model from energy. Let it fall away as dust.
Select a mesh and an emitter, then pour glowing grains into a hard-light body before dissolving it into dust or pieces. Every frame is timeline-driven, so you can scrub without simulation or baking. The construct lives on a new Geometry Nodes object; the original is hidden and remains editable and animatable.
What it does
Shape the build
Mix six build styles with seven dissolve styles, using motion curves or a custom curve to shape the timing.
Layer the light
Control mist, leader trails, impact flashes, liquid ribbons, edge lines and inner energy.
Dust and pieces with weight
Choose Shards, Chunks or objects from a collection. Adjust wind and gravity; enable Floor for bouncing, skidding and debris piles.
Follow animated characters
Grains read the current target shape each frame, including armatures and deforming modifiers. Limit dissolution with a vertex group.
Images and endless loops
Add Image Card uses PNG/JPG images and their colours. Lifecycle offers Endless Build, Endless Dissolve and Endless Flow.
Scrub freely
No bake is needed to inspect frames. Use Bake to cache frames for faster final renders or rendering across machines.
Who it is for
- VFX artists making build, dissolve or shatter effects
- Blender artists making logos, 2D image effects and energy loops
Requirements
- Blender 4.4 or newer; tested on 4.4 and 5.2 LTS
- Curl Grid requires Blender 5.0+; 4.4 automatically falls back to per-grain curl

FAQ
Do I need to bake?
You can scrub without baking. Bake before using a render farm or multiple machines because a small fraction of grains can differ between Blender sessions.
Does it change my model?
No. It hides the original and reads it into a new object. Delete the construct and unhide the original to go back.
Can pieces collide with other objects?
This version supports floor collision through Floor, not collision with other objects. Grains sit on the surface rather than filling the interior.
Is Energy Beam included?
Energy Beam is experimental in 1.1.x and disabled by default.
